Just got back from the midnight showing, I liked it. As a fan of the original Predator and Predator 2, this was about what I expected. I don't want to ruin it for anybody, but this is what I didn't like, I'll use spoiler black out tag:

They killed off the characters of laurence fishburne and danny trejo too fast. Why the fuck did they let Topher Grace survive until the end, he should have died early.

I wanted to see more predator fighting between each other, they maybe should of had the original looking predators come in towards the end to save their homie that was tied up by the hybrid looking ones and have a big fight between the 2 clans. They also should have showed the predators killing the other alien creatures they put on the planet to hunt, or at least had the other alien creatures team up with the humans or something.

I didn't care for the ending, it would have been cool at the end if they had Adrien Brody's character go up to one of the crates that parachuted down, and you heard the Alien hiss or something....like the Predators were preparing to hunt aliens on the planet.

Going to see it in about 3 hours. SO EXCITED! I was looking forward to this movie and it should not be crap (as I had feared) based on the reviews that I have skimmed so far.

Kinda surprised but P1 only has liek a 74% rating or soemthing. P3 is coming in at 73% or so. If this is on par with P1 I am goign to be super happy. Have reasonable expectations going in. Will report in the big recently watched movie thread eventually.

Probably going to see this after work, then a Cyrus/The Girl Who Played With Fire double-header tomorrow. :awe:

just got back from watching it. Really enjoyed it, not as good as the original. Really nice action and mix of characters.

Rodriguez said during the Q&A that he needed trejo on the Machete set, so he had to be killed off early. Dunno how true that is, but he said it. Machete does come out in September though so it makes sense.

Not bad. Not great, but not bad. Pacing seemed a bit.. off, but nothing too awful.

What I was hoping for was some
Predalien action. I assumed that was what the bigger ones were, and that one guy had a burst-chest, but that really didn't pan out
🙁

And I guess is was an homage, but they really lifted a lot of dialog from the 1st movie.

it was ok, i expected to much due to the trailer.

i thought this was a reboot, but it's actually a continuation of the original predator

Wait Topher Grace? No way they could have matched the original but with fucking Forman from the 70's Show in it, I think it'll be worse than I expected before I knew he was in it. Put some bad asses in it like Quinton Jackson & Brock Lesnar. Actually Lesnar would be pretty awesome in a movie like this. But Toper Grace? Shit, they might as well put Seth Rogan in it too while they're at it.

Well, in the movie's defense, Topher wasn't actually supposed to be one of the bad-asses - he was a medic. He never even carried a gun.

saw predators last night

not good really

there were a few good parts

overall not good...really annoying characters and dialog

stupid premise

not enough predators..too much talking (and cheesy talking at that)

so it seems whoever takes the yakuza/billy part is always the bad ass in the movie.
i was hoping for some predaliens or aliens as well

I don't think he was
a real medic, he lied to get in easy with them. He was a psychopath looking for his own opportunity. I thought he was saying this as he drug the chic to cut her up in pieces while she would be awake and able to know what would be happening to her.

i thought the movie was pretty crappy. wtf is a hybrid predator?

I did not fully catch that part of it.
I only caught that there were big predators and little predators. The big predators would actually hunt the little predators. Both types of predators hunted humans.
