Precooked bacon vs cooking it yourself

JEDI

Lifer
thick cut bacon is usually on sale $2 for $6. there are 12 slices in a 16oz package.

i saw Precooked bacon (thick cut) on sale for $3. it's also 12 slices.

i like the precooked bacon better. it saves time + mess.

Which do you prefer? WHY?

No question, cook it yourself.
Cast iron skillet + thick bacon = delicious

It just tastes better to fry it on the spot, plus you get the smell wafting all over the house. Mmm, bacon on Saturday or Sunday morning 🙂

Plus, leftover grease makes good flavor for home fries afterward.

frying eggs and frying chicken are the two greatest.

Not to mention the fapping advantages it has.

Nah, smoke point is too low. Smells good though.

pre cooked isn't bad, nowhere near as good though. But you cannot take raw bacon and be to the eating stage in FIFTEEN SECONDS. When I need Bacon & need is right now, pre-cooked is the only choice. When I have time I cook it myself.

Pre Cooked makes good breakfast burritos too.

Actually, yes you can. Use fresh bacon and precook it yourself. You do it to about 90% done and then freeze or refrigerate it.

oh yeah. fried eggs in bacon grease is great. not healthy at all but damn yummy

Who buys precooked bacon?

Anyway, most mega-mart bacon is crap anyway because it's low quality and on top of that it isn't smoked, it's brined in a salt-water concoction.

Do yourself a favor and head on down to your local deli or butcher and buy some real, thick cut, smoked bacon. Trust me, you'll never buy bacon from HugeMart again.

for the 95% cooked yourself then just heat it up thing you have to have already done the 95% at a different time. pre-cooked bacon is great in a pinch.

Some say Shakespeare ate Bacon, others that he was Bacon, still others that, while he may have been a pig, he was more of a ham than Bacon.

I'm sure Grizzly Adams would have used bacon grease at some point to make himself a window for his cabin by smearing it onto some paper instead of regular lard if he'd had the bacon grease available.

why all these thread about nasty prepared bacon.
get an old coffee can, drain grease and enjoy fresh cooked bacon..there really is no substitute.
+bacon grease is superb for seasoning a wood stove or fireplaces insert that has developed surface rust.
dab some bacon grease on a crumpled newspaper and spread it on when the stove is hot..your house will smell like bacon and the stove will be like new.

Are you a 12 year old asian boy that wrote an automatic "negro" translator app or something?

I think I'm gonna have some bacon and eggs for breakfast tomorrow. I love cooking bacon and using the bacon grease to cook the eggs. So yummy.
