The bumps as you refer to them are called "vias". They do go through the board DO NOT DRILL THEM (you will most likely destroy the connection from one side of the board to the other), you can see them in the pictures you posted in the OP. In fact it looks like they go to the pins 12, 11 and 10 as referenced in the first picture, can't you just solder to there? Or you can even solder to the pins on the connector (7JN1, pins 12, 11 and 10).

Go hang out at UNLV and find a poor CE student to do it for you in exchange for a burrito.

dont drill out the vias, just scrape off the soldermask and solder them there.. or right at the connector, whatever you want.

I could do it drunk and blindfolded, but i'm a little far off :p
