1. trades are FAR from over for this season.
major trades and signings maybe, but not trades altogether.
2. stop using threads like these to boost the egos of laker fans (yourself included) because at this point, the lakers are the heavy favorites and you know it.
Word..and like you said, its 3 and a half months away, go think about other things, or how bout writing some more articles.
I'm benchmarking three different systems as I write this.
digitalsm, Payton is multi-year and Malone could easily be multi-year as well. Even if they're not, Shaq will be on the Lakers for the next four seasons, meaning Kobe would be leaving a Lakers team that is guaranteed to have Shaq for three more years (due to contract terms) after this next season when Kobe becomes a free agent. Would Kobe risk his next three or more years in the NBA without Shaq? No he probably won't, he wants to win.
Also, Kobe stated that whether he stays or leaves depends on Phil Jackson. Phil's been saying that he's been feeling great and energized again, so he'll probably be around for a few more years with Shaq. After that, I still think Kobe will stay with either Cleamons taking up Jackson's job or another good coach. Both Kobe and Shaq also said that they had thoughts of leaving when Jerry West left the organization, but now he's in Memphis and they haven't said anything about it since.
