Not bad, but the current 5 free hd dvds expires sept. Toshiba may or may not renew it for the 3rd gen systems set to release in October. Either buy the A2 now, or hope that the A3 comes with a better deal.

Great price--plus VE is a really good (safe) place to buy. Of course these aren't out yet so we'll have to cross our fingers on how much better they are than current gen

Specs on these anywhere? I'd love to know how much they differ from current-gen models. Will the HD-A3 be 1080p or still 1080i like the A2?

This article has some technical details:

Toshiba HD-A3, HD-A30, HD-A35

The A3 is 1080i no 1080p.

Probably ask for an A3 for christmas. I buy TVs about once a decade at best. The one I have right now is 720p.
