Burned out on all MMO's currently. Got a bout 7 or 8 friends going to play it. Anyone here in the beta or going to play it upon release? If so, we are thinking about getting a guild going. Mostly players that were a guild in EQ then onto WoW.. Now looking to try out AoC.. The sieges, and mounted combat look awesome..

Don't mind Mal, he is an eternally butthurt MMO troll. I enjoy reading his posts, however.

I think there are other AoC threads around here too...

I will be playing. Was going to pre order but with the tax and shipping they wanted to charge me it ended up being close to $65, so i'll just pick it up in the sore. Not worth the extra money just for a silly mount. Anyway, I know I cant wait for it to be released :).

I preordered, although I'm not sure if I'll be playing it when it is released because I foresee a huge amount of bugs, lag, and gameplay issues that ened to be resolved.

Yeah I've never started an MMORPG right off the bat either.. This is the first time I've done anything like this.. Wouldn't mind starting something from the start, and seeing how it goes.. More than likely it will be a flop, but oh well..

Yeah, kind of like grinding in a FPS for rank playing the same 3 maps over and over ;).. I haven't touched an MMO in over a year because I've been burned out on "grinding"..

If they didnt change it there will be 80 levels in AoC so it'll be a grindfest like any other MMO game. I'm going to try it. Just cant decide wether I want to pre order or not. The bow or a mount would be nice but I really dont care about the early 3 day play.

I don't think it'll be a flop. I think it'll be a success and maybe even a critical success and a runner up to WoW in the United States but I just think it'll be a long, rough road before they fix all the annoying peoblems with the game right now.

I've been reading up on this game a lot and have waited for the game for many years. Most of the review have been positive with some skepticism about performance and mechanics. As long as the developers seem flexible and willing to learn from their mistakes I'm sure it'll do well a year from now.

Warhammer, on the other hand, seems like a WoW clone with many things about it that may even be worse than WoW. The only silver lining about it is the Realm v Realm aspect about it they does seem to be better than WoW form of purely instanced PvP. I think AoC will do better than Warhammer but I think both games will see a small migration of players from WoW.

I have pre-ordered the game too. Waiting to start on the open beta right now.

I'm having trouble deciding on which pre-order to buy.

I plan on being a Herald of Xotli and undecided on which to purchase.

Get a War Mammoth, War Rhino or get the bow.

Bow will get replaced soon. Mammoth or Rhino IMO. Mammoth for siege warfare.

He also hates beer.

The only people I know of who hate beer are women! WE'VE BEEN INFILTRATED!

looks like all the collector's editions that come with the mounts are sold out. amazon still seems to have the one with the bow. i wish i knew what the mounts cost or whatever for regular players. if they're ridiculously overpiced, it might be worth it to pick up a pre-order.

anyone getting the collector's edition and not interested in the sountrack? i'll take it off your hands and if you want, I might be willing to give you a little money for it.

I imagine the mounts would give you more long term use than the bow. Obviously though you'll be able to get the mounts in the game just at a later time and it'll cost you in game money and/or in game play time (quest?) to get them. From what I been hearing the speed of the animals (slowest to fastest) goes like this: Mammoth --> Rhino --> Horse? They also have different hit points accumulation too from what I understand. Probably in reverse order from the speed.

From what I've read the War rhino is just a different colored rhino that you'll be able to get in the game and eventually will be made available to everyone. The most impressive thing about preordered is neitehr the bow nor the mount but the traveler's bag imo. They did the same thing in AO where the bag was the most lasting item in the game you could only get if you preordered.

I will never pre order a game, let alone an MMO. Its foolish, wait for the game to be released and some reputable information to circulate first.

Some of us have tried the beta and know what to expect.
