Greetings...
I am having a heck of a time getting everyone in my home happy with their connection. Everyone uses wireless and currently I have a DLink SugerG router. The thing is that since I have my family room with 2 computer in the basement and then a laptop on the first floor and then 2 more offices on the second floor -- I set the router on the first floor. The laptop on the first floor connects beautifully and so do the two comps upstairs. The basement though is pathetic with many drops and always "very low" connection.

If I were to switch to a PRe-N router such as Belkin or Linksys or Netgear would I get better range going downstairs of when they speak of the great increase in range do they mean mainly in horizontal range?

Thanks
Bob
