This prayer is dedicated to the separation of church and state:

Our father lord in heaven
And to the republic for which it stands
Thy kingdom come
One nation indivisible
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day as we forgive those
Who so proudly we hail
And crown thy good intertemptation
But deliver us from the twilight.
Amen

i don't mind if they hold that idea, as long as they don't express it :D

ok but seriously, i can't figure out what intertemptation could mean. temptation.... yes... but i don't know how to work inter into it. inter what?

Thank You Zakath15....the vast majority of the Founding Fathers were Deists, Slave Owners, and Drunkards....they were certainly not seeking any religion to dictate their sense of freedom!!!

not really related, but has anyone else read rip van winkle? the part where he comes back after his sleep, during which the revolutionary war has taken place:

He recognized on the sign, however, the ruby face of King George, under which he had smoked so many a peaceful pipe; but even this was singularly metamorphosed. The red coat was changed for one of blue and buff," a sword was held in the hand instead of a sceptre, the head was decorated with a cocked hat, and underneath was painted in large characters, GENERAL Washington.
