[ ] No, leave my shit alone!

LOL 😀

I like this 😀

I vote for this. I know some people in my car community who appreciated the fine "patina" that is aquired over decades of age. While I don't share their aesthetics, they'd actually be fairly upset if someone cleaned up their "vintage" paint job.

So I should back off of my good deed?

I've always done stuff like that. I once saw a car with a flat tire. I had this compressed air can, so I jacked up the car, put air in the tire. I found a nail, which I pulled, then marked and plugged the hole with this kit I had. I repaired the flat while the wheel was still on the car. 🙂

Yeah, you can probably get sued for that. Also, if you see anyone dieing in a car wreck, just leave them. It would suck to have to pay stipends to them if you accidentally cripple them. It is sad, but I honestly believe crap like this will be the downfall of our society.

Well, like they say, no good deed goes un punished. Frankly, the finish on that truck bugged me. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Well, rather than complain, I decided to be the solution. 🙂

maybe he likes the "rustic" look 🙂

So, this neighbor, whom I've never met moved in a couple months ago. He has this 55 Chevy HD truck. It's a dually flatbed 4x4. It's fire engine red, and is really straight, but with one minor problem....the paint is oxydized all to hell. It's really flat and does not shine at all...well, until a couple days ago, then it started to shine a little. The truck is not really dirty, but just needs some TLC. He drives it to work, to do whatever he does, then usually comes home, cleans up, and goes out for a few hours. hehe.

Well, a couple nights ago, I broke out some liquid rubbing compound and rubbed out the front fender. Then I waxed it real well. That section looks brand new. I watched him come out in the morning, and he was like, WTF? He smoothed his hand over it, looked around, then left for work.

Tonight the same thing happened. I did the driver's side door and it looks brand new, as well. A week or so, and I'll have the entire truck done, little by little. He'll probably never figure out who did it. I will take secret delight in this. 🙂

Would you be pissed if this happened to you?

Spend more time with Lola and less time w/your neighbor;'s truck. 😉

and nope, i wouldnt be pissed. but i would spend lots of time wondering WTF for years to come.

I didn't know Compuwiz1 was the same person as IamWiz.

damn it... compuwiz, put in your sig that your wife is Racheal Ray and not Lola 😀

edit:
and What does IamWiz have to do w/this? Compuwiz can still spend time w/his Lola 🙂

You should leave him little clues every time you do it.

Something like
"O Draconian Devil!"
"O Lame Saint!"
"So Dark the Con of Man"

Nah! I'll probably finish it, then leave him a note, telling him he owes the man in unit 2118 a beer, with a big smiley face on it. 🙂

He's going to think you're hitting on him.

I like your style. It's a nice thing you're doing. But rather than just invite him in for a beer by sticking a note on his truck, maybe just leave a note like: I couldn't stand to see such a beautiful vehicle looking so drab. You're welcome. Enjoy.

I agree. Nice gesture, but creepy too.

PICS OR SHENS!

Be careful not to get shot , stabbed, or knuckled down when doing this prank. Some people are just crazy!

I have to say, I am glad you are not one of my neighbors.
I do not care if you are the virgin mary. Do not fuck with other peoples cars.

nope, I would not be pissed. I would leave a $20 bill under the windshield wiper after you finished the whole car. 🙂

Regardless of how nice you were trying to be, touching my vehicle without permission would piss me off.

whatever floats your boat 😛

btw, this is awesome neighborliness. however, it could always backfire but I don't think it will. specially if there is already a test patch of wax, but that may be proof he didn't end up liking the idea of shiny red if he never pursued it. 😉
it'll probably be fine though, and I'd love to see the look on his face as it progresses, each time he comes home. I bet he now just expects more to be done when he comes home, and might be disappointed on a night there was no progress. 😛

That's creepy lol

ok gang, this is gonna be really anti-climatic, but the ending sucks. I never got past the driver's half of the truck. One Saturday my wife called me at work and told me the guy moved out of the complex. I never got to finish the project or introduce myself. 🙁
