Supposed to be right around $20K. :gift:

Yeah I read a report.
Supposely RWD, roadster, supercharged 240hp for about $20K.
If this holds true in the final production, they'll have people lining up.

I could be wrong, but it think it will base around $20k.. likely without a supercharger. As much as I think this will be a great success, I would be surprised if they could release it w/ 240hp for $20k. Although, the Neon SRT-4 is up there for that price.. who knows.

My guess would be if Dodge can pull it off in the Neon then Pontiac should be fine for the Solstice.

This thing is going to be RWD, right?

If so I would very seriously consider getting one... Though the '05 Mustang would definitely be up there as well.

You mean now I'm going to be seeing these monstrosities on the road too?

OK, so it's not really a monstrosity, but I honestly don't understand why everyone is so gaga over it. I looks just like any other pudgy, nondescript jelly-bean car.

Any specs on the car?

240HP supercharged 4-banger

Damn it fell off

As mentioned below $20-21k will not get you a car with 19-20" wheels and 240 HP on this platform. They will jack the price up for that or neuter the $20k version.

I agree - it's too blobular for me.

I'd hate to see what you two think of the Shelby 427 Cobra or the original Dodge Viper RT/10 and GTS

NFS4: my guess is this:
"They suck because they're american and have large powerful engines and really are fast. Real cars have DOHC and 9000RPM redlines, like the Honda Civic.". 😀

LOL 🙂

Haha, I will gladly crap on GM/Ford when they produce crap (i.e., Taurus, Cavalier, Grand Am, etc.), but when they do something cool like this and the new Ford GT, you've just gotta give 'em credit where credit is due.

Wow - thank you for putting words in my mouth

Fortunately, you're dumb ass is wrong. But hey, good job making yourself look stupid.

This might be out when I hit 30 4 years from now, and help me suffer through my first bout of mid life crisis. 😀

I got the sarcasm, but it was a cheap shot.

I like it because it has clean lines, it does not look "feminine" like many convertibles, and although the styling is not unique, neither is it obviously derivative like so many new cars these days.

However, the main attractions are the engine and the price, if they can pull it off.

Why bother with a high tech, hyper 4 cylinder? Which would be cheaper to manufacture, a 300hp V8, or 240hp 4 banger? I know which would be smoother and torqier.

I know which one would be heavier too 🙂
