Went to lunch and creamed my 10 prairie dog today. I dont swerve to hit them on purpose they just run out right in front of you. Like today one ran out in the middle of my lane and stayed on all fours as the car in front of me pass right over it, just ruffled his fur from the wind. but did the little sucker stay on all fours or run off the road? nooooo. he stayed right where he was. i lined up my car so i would pass over him and not squish him with my tire. Just as i was to pass over him he stands up. BOINK!!! I swear they dont learn, there are dozens of squished prairie dogs on that section of the road, there is a huge prairie dog town on both sides of it.

Hahahah that's sick but funny. I drove up to the mountains with my family on the weekend and when we were going to leave a squirrel ran right in front of our van. We barely, barely missed him....

So easy to hit them with the car, and yet I can never seem to hit them with the .22 :|

btw...this was in Calgary when I went a few years back.

sad and funny at the same time. I can just imagine that prairie dog getting up on his hind legs, then thinking "Oh, sh!t"

Look at the bright side of this. At least you're contributing to prairie dog population control by awarding the stupid ones with darwin awards. hehehe.

Evolution in Action :D
In a few thousand years, maybe the critters will be smart enough to cross roads without getting flattened!

one night i went driving to the farmlands in california... we were gonna steal some pumpkins but it ends up that a raccoon and her cubs were crossing the road... I hit the mother raccoon really hard on both my left tires... after the hit i slowed to a stop to make a u-turn... The raccoon was not there... I wonder to this day what happened to such a critter.

Coons are big here, thank god i havent nailed one of those yet. Im sure the damage to my GEO plastic front end would be extensive. the road i drive to and from work, there is a 100ft stretch that i see 3-4 dead coons a week. That stretch must be the my excellent compatriot crossing for the region or something.... one night when i went home i saw 2 dead, the next morning i saw 5 new kills, all with-in that 100ft.

Its not that uncommon. Around here we shoot woodchucks (just a tad bigger) all the time with deer rifles all summer. Keeps us in practice, and if they convinetly work out to be roughly the size of a deer's kill zone.
