I always liked the idea of transposing the "N" and "M" keys on a person's keyboard. Just pry 'em off, and put 'em back on in swtiched positions. That one will take a while for him to discover, and should thereby give you plenty of opportunity to spectate and chuckle.

Kidnap his family and write him a ransom letter stating that things will happen if he continues his peanut/pencil throwing. Then a week later call him a wuss and tell him it was all a joke.

 
If you want something mild you could gather up the peanuts, crush them into a powder and fill his jacket or coat pockets with it. Use the dry kind as opposed to the oily ones if you think he would be the type to say that the oily ones ruined his jacket/coat.

He sounds like the type that would want to get even though, so I would consider that before making any sort of move.

Complain to your mutual boss. There's no revenge/justice like the shock of realizing your behavior is getting you in trouble with the management.
 
Hmm someone just got fired over stupid stuff so everyone is on their best behavior. I don't want to get him fired, I could though if I wanted to hehe.

Open his computer up and unplug the power to his cdrom drive.

Remove one of his ram sticks

Install the keyboard software that allows you to remap the keys - then remap the keys.

set his monitor to output at 47hz

remove one of the casters from his computer chair

turn his computer speakers to max, enable sounds, use your imagination.

go into autocorrect in MS Word and add entries for words used often (ie the, and, it, and don't forget his first and last name). Make it autocorrect to expletives of your choice.

Buy a jar of expensive, fancy peanuts. Open the jar, noticably breaking the seal. Close the jar badly. Put a nice ribbon/bow on it. Give it to your co-worker. Tell him they are FINE, they're just normal peanuts, he he he. Laugh oddly. Insist that they are perfectly normal peanuts. Go ahead, try one. Insist.

Spend the day telling people to try his jar of peanuts. Ha ha.

He'll never figure out what you did to them.

Put a gay porn magazine and lube in his draw. Standby with a camera and take tons of shots of him taking it out, make copies, distribute to co-workers.

I forgot all about that one...
make it a lengthy porno type of audio, replace the window's default sound sound for closing a program (or something), make it very difficult for him to change the volume.

Whatever happened to that file you would send in an email (or use as a link) that, when opened, would turn your sound all the way up and start screaming 'LOOK AT ME, I LOOKING AT GAY PORN' over and over? Now THAT would be funny as hell. Maybe switch the link to MS Word or MS Excel to point to that file and watch the embarassment ensue :evil:
