PR Guy Gets A Little Handsy With TV Reporter

you guys are out of your minds if you think the reporter was harrassing anyone...that is one creepy little fuck. I'm not a fighter but when he started with the hands again at the end I would have thrown an elbow at least

there are differences in suing and calling the cops. The reporter asked him 3-4 times to stop touching him. even walked away from him. yet the guy continued.

sad part is if the guy used force to make him stop he could get sued.

best thing is to call the cops.

Way to handle him would have been to step on his foot then lean right in to him and put him off balance. He will go down all on his own and you can say "Look Mom! No Hands" 😉

first off, boring video.

secondly, the guy told him to stop touching him. he was purposefully trying to provoke a conflict by being a dickhead.

Pushy reporters may be annoying fucks, but they're also a cornerstone of an effective democracy.

And anyone that would even consider suing or filing assault charges for a touch on the shoulder is a whiny crybaby pussy and perfectly exemplifies why your country is turning to shit.

he was starting a confrontation. 9/10 people would have punched the guy after repeatably being touched after enough warning not to. anyone who wouldnt, like yourself, are just pansies.

I would have pushed the guy, hard. Hard enough to know I mean business. If he kept doing it then I would have hit him and any "justice" system that would punish me for that is not a system I would want to be involved in.

Note, this is assuming that there was a similar size differential in my case. I'm a pretty small guy and not very intimidating (kind of like that PR wang).

The PR guy was definitely baiting the reporter. It was his job to run interference and he did a pretty damn good job.

Even as he was touching the reporter, he was smiling and giving his cheesy intro. The reporter would have been hard pressed to just knock the guy out for this pretty harmless touching.

They both knew this, so despite all the huffing and puffing, there was nothing the reporter could really do but take it. His only other options were to get violent or call the cops. Either way, the PR did his job.

wow ok that guy is fucking nuts. then he blames it on the reporter. classic.

I hope asshole reporters barge into your work space trailing a camerman and an assistant douche some day real soon and we all get to see how you handle it when you try to tell them "not now" and they ignore you and keep going after some five foot two female co-worker even after she repeatedly tells them she has nothing to say.

That PR guy is my hero! He fucked with big, self-important but ungodly pussy/whiny Lothar from News 9 and successfully did his fucking job!

I weep for humanity when people are "thata boy"ing the PR creep

ABC7's Dan Noyes has encountered cold shoulders and hostility while interviewing subjects for a controversial story. But a run-in with a Laguna Honda Hospital official even shocked him.

Noyes was probing allegations that Laguna Honda administrators used money from the Patient Gift Fund -- funds donated to patients -- to buy catered meals and airline tickets, among other things. According to Noyes, "Hospital Director Mivic Hirose ignored our phone calls for an interview. So, we showed up at her town hall meeting at the hospital." That's when the chief of community relations Marc Slavin stepped in and repeatedly patted Noyes with a hand. Each time, Noyes warned, "Do not touch me," and one point Noyes threatened to call the cops. But like a brother bugging his little sister, Slavin continued his touchy-feely ways with Noyes and the camerawoman.

That was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen. And then he cancelled the presentation in front of everyone and blamed the reporters. That was creepy.

Of course, that is their spin on this story...big shock that it paints the PR guy in a bad light.

It worked, it broke-off the reporter's focus on the woman and forced him to deal with the PR director instead. Does anyone think this asshat would have voluntarily changed his strategy from "confrontation now" to "I guess I'll come back later to speak with the nice woman" just because she refused to speak with him at that point?

ABC7's Dan Noyes . . . a run-in with a Laguna Honda Hospital official even shocked him.

[...]

. . .Marc Slavin stepped in and repeatedly patted Noyes with a hand.

Repeatedly? Teh noes, Noyes! D:

As a ratings hungry, scandal hunting camera hog, if this is all it takes to SHOCK Big Dan, then he and you ought to go somewhere off camera and have a good, cleansing cry together!

The PR guy did his job. After the very first time the Director refused to answer any questions, the rest was just Big Dan posing for the cameras and needlessly interfering with a town hall meeting.

No info was ever going to be forthcoming!

The hospital is private property and THEY had the right to demand that Big Dan get the fuck off of it.

Bu, bu, but, your honor, he, he, he patted me, repeatedly!

What cynically over-hyped horseshit!

If there was a real story there, it wasn't going to come out as a result of that faux for the cameras confrontation. 🙄

Slavin's boss, Director of Public Health Mitch Katz, declined an on camera interview, but he said Slavin's behavior was "unprofessional." He would not say whether Slavin faces discipline, or even if he still works at Laguna Honda, because it is a personnel issue.

oh. and

Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center is a city-owned acute care hospital providing long term care and rehabilitation services to seniors and adults with disabilities in San Francisco, CA.

read the article and crawl back under your bridge

read the article and crawl back under your bridge

Will I find you and Big Dan "weeping for humanity" under it?

The city is the owner and, just as with any property, has the right to control who comes on to it!

Don't think so? Go down to the courthouse or the DMV or any city administrative office with a camera crew and an attitude and see how long you last.

They may be playing public perception damage control, but that PR guy did his job.

"He patted me" being portrayed as a physical assault by Big Dan?

It's horseshit and you should know it. 🙄

Anyway, the article you linked to is . . . wait for it . . . by-lined by Big Dan!

And it's mostly about the illegal use of funds allegation, as it should be. Point is, after the Director said she wouldn't speak to Big Dan, everything he did after that was needless and pointless preening for the camera. It did NOT serve any investigative purpose, and was purely for the advancement of Big Dan's career.

And it worked! He got you "weeping for humanity"!

There may be a real story here, but it's NOT Big Dan getting 'patted" by mean ol' Mr. Mark!
