Bottom line is, watch his tires, he didn't do jack squat to correct himself, all he did was turn to the left, then straighten out, he hit the brake early on into the curve, realized it wasn't enough, and yes, probably did let off the gas, but even then, he still could have done ALOT better had he even TRIED to steer back on the road, and the road was in his favor considering he got it back pointing to the left fairly quickly, then had he even overcompensated to the right again he still would have skidded forward and left.
He overcompensated to the left, and he was no longer skidding to the right, which means had he compensated a little less he could have (gas/brake handling aside) kept himself somewhere close to where he needed to be. But instead he freaked out and rather than go back to the right and try to fishtail his ass end around by snapping to the left again (keeping in mind you want to get as much of your car OUT of the other lane as possible as FAST as possible) I mean the car is...well, was, nimble enough to go from a slide to the right to crossing the road in a forward motion he could have managed his way out of it, but he didn't do anything other than overcompensate to the left and straighten out.
Nevermind that fact that when faced with a choice of ripping up the passenger side of his car and driving into a ditch to be flipped and land on his head (with NOTHING to protect it) he chose to land on his head....good call....worst case scenario had he let the slide go he would have torn up his car, talking body work and suspension/wheels needing work/replaced and thats the majority of it, vs. toatalling the car....
All in all, glad he doesn't touch my car.
