Everybody tries to make money and they do it by being the best and having the least amount of operating cost. However, Powweb.com has a new plan which i'm not too sure of and i was wondering what you guys thought..

$7.77 / month for 1gb of storage + 5gb/day of data transfer.. which would equal 150gb roughly..

Is there some catch I haven't seen? i looked over their site to see if there is a catch or some kind of catch, but i can't see it.

If this is true, i'm going with them. I thought Dathorn.com, addaction.net, and hostrocket.com had pretty decent plans, but this by far, is a better plan and for the price..

When plans are cheap, the disadvantages are usually crappy or non-existent service and overcrowded servers.

Expect to pay $25/month+ if you expect top notch service and good server response times. If you have a site that is demanding of the server (heavy database use, forums, whatever), expect to pay even more. YOu get what you pay for.

Give them a call - you can get a good idea of how they do business from a short phone call. Just don't ask them to stick out their hand...

Did a search on WHT and didn't see any negative reviews (on the first page) :)

I would suggest you get a host with 150gb of transfer per month if thats what you are looking for. Mainly because when people use that much bandwidth it is because they are hosting something for a group of people, where the downloads will come all at once. 5gb is not that much, from what I've seen if a client posts a file on AT they can easily get 30gb used in one day, so in my opinion it would be better if you could spend it however you wanted.

Anyways, if they give you the needed bandwidth, good luck :)

I'm looking for a cheap ASP host to do some development on, can you guys recommend me a good host?
I already know about that european host which only gives you 5MB of storage, are there any others?

You did it to yourself.

Actually you are lucky compared to Syringer. Look at all those threads, notice anything?

I've used PowWeb before on two domains, they're actually very good. Technical support is very fast and helpful too.

i'll see how much traffic my site generates.. but powweb.com capping at 5gb/day is sort of a turn off... we'll see though how much i need.
