POWMAX power supply

I found a pretty good deal on some 400W power supplies, but I don't know if they are any good. Could anyone with any experience with the Powmax LP 8800D 400W post you opinions/recomendations? Thanks.

I found them for 14.99 @ SVC 😉

The rail ratings look good, and at that price it's worth a shot.

I used one (Powmax LP-8800D ) for a while till I bought an Antec. Only difference maybe is the Antec runs cooler. I guess if you're building a cheapo system, it should be fine...

well i bought a new powmax 300 watt and it gives me at least one crash per day since i bought it. gonna return it to fry's when i get my new one from newegg. maybe i got the bad one of the bunch, but you should never skimp on PSUs.

Yah that's my problem. I know right off of about 2 maybe 3 good brands. After that I don't know what is good and what is skimping.

I use 8800D on my AMD 1800XP system, with one WD 80G SE and one WD 120G, one CDRW, one DVD-ROM, ATi 8500... it works great.
I used to use a 6100D with dual fans, it is AMD recommended.

Does this 400W Powmax have a two pin fan connector? Cuz if I get one I wanna mod it with an L1A as I've been doing with my Enhance 300W. 🙂
