I previously had my Sony Bravia 40" hooked up to a Radeon x1650 via VGA. I used Powerstrip to manually add 1080p because the TV doesn't officially support 1080p over VGA for some unknown reason.
I just switched out the card with a Radeon HD 4830 and am unable to set the resolution with Powerstrip. It doesn't support the card and is unable to properly detect the refresh rate. I tried forcing 1080p with the Catalyst Control Center, and it shows up but I can't get it to display without boarders. I tried compensating with the TV but it's adjustments are limited. When I try to adjust the picture with CCC the picture goes blank.
Is there any way to get this to work with VGA? I can get 1080p using HDMI but for some reason I can't get the picture to look as good as it did with VGA. It looks pixelated or something. It seems my TV applies so sort post processing which I can't disable.
