Powershot S2 IS!

tami

Lifer
so the hubby preordered the S2 IS for $499 and it arrived today... but in the hot deals forum, you can find a much better deal ($354 shipped!)

for such a new camera (this JUST came out), this is definitely something you should consider. 😉

given that there are a hundred "looking to buy a digital camera" threads on here lately, pay close attention to this one. 😛

i haven't opened it yet. i'm going to return this one to amazon and take advantage of the hot deal. 🙂

Why dont' you jump on the hot deal and open this one, then when the hot deal comes, don't open it and send it to amazon?

Possibly different UPC's. Plus most places charge 15% restocking on opened cameras.

You should take nekkid pics of Zim and send it to me before you return it. Zim is completely on board with that.

good idea. 🙂 the only issue is the UPC symbols as RagingBITCH said. if the rebate is mail-in (i didn't read the fine print; i had him do it), then we'll probably need to mail the UPC from the box.

DeviousTrap: yeah, i did. we're photography hogs so we need two. 😱

I'm looking at the reviews for this camera, and the images look a bit fuzzy and prismatic to me. It's as if it's shooting through too much lens. The first S1 IS had this problem too, poor image quality.

That doesn't actually fix the fuzziness though. Image processing software can only work with information contained in the original picture. If the information's not there, it's not there.

There is no cheap fix for bad optics. If there was, photographers would just buy cheap glass and photoshop CS.

I recently bought a laptop and Canon printer so I qualify for the $70 rebate.

Tempting.

and I have a Dell $25 off $150 coupon code as well 🙂

Last I heard the $70 off coupon is dead, isn't that right? If not, I'll order right now.

I'm not a camera expert, but I like my S1 IS 😱

At first I mistook this for an import > domestic auto thread.

Then it came to me, Sony digicams for life! 😛
