Powershell, Windows 10

Recently I turned the Windows powershell feature on from the 'programs and features' 'Turn Windows features on or off' option. I just turned it off by selecting the root tree for the option. I rebooted and noticed the taskbar Powershell icons were left. So out of curiosity I clicked it to see if it would start and it did. Doesn't turning off the feature turn it off?

Don't think it is possible to fully uninstall this, this is one of those core things that windows uses all the time.

I cant imagine a scenario where you would want powershell not to work.

1 - it is a core feature of windows so you technically dont turn it off, you just hide it like IE
2 - where the icons the system created ones or ones that you created, as I have seen user created ones do not get deleted sometimes

'Turn Windows features on or off' is a legacy Control Panel interface. I wouldn't be surprised is none of those items work properly in Windows 10. That said, the only powershell listed there is Powershell 2.0. Windows 10 ships with powershell 5.

There is zero reason to want to disable powershell. It is pretty much the best thing about Windows.
