powerpoint -- switching text

in powerpoint, I have a title and some sort of subtitles on a slide, and then under that I have some info text, but I want to have the info text "switch" on click, with a fly in or fade or roll or something...so basically I want to have a block of text that changes on click, not a whole slide change. Is there a built in function for doing something like this?
if you don't have the answer, do you know where I might find it?

thanks.

do you want them to be on the same line or on separate lines?

anyways, here is how to do it... i'm assuming you have two groups of items (example: two text boxes that contains different sentences)

- create a text box (or whatever you want to put in there)
- when selecting the text box, right click and choose "custom animation"
- check the checkbox that corresponds to the item you want to slide, choose the effect you want below
- at the bottom, "after animation", choose "hide on next mouse click"
- click on "order and timing" tab, you can specify which "group" of text should appear first

if you want the second text to replace the first text box, arrange the boxes on the same line
otherwise, well, put them on a separate line .... =)

it may sound confusing, so if you have question or want to get example or sth, pm or email me ...
or you can go thru the help (F1) and look for "animation" on the help menu

good luck 🙂
