Powering up computer on and off 1-3 sec repeatedly

Hello guys,

I know someone has touched on this. However, I have no clue what's causing this. When I turn my computer on, it turns on and off in a loop. However, if I do something such as unplug something or remove ram etc...It would go past the loop and run normally until I shut down my computer.

The next day, it is same problem again until I get past that loop. Please help guys

My system specs:
MB: Asus Z97 Sabertooth Mark 1
CPU: Intel i5 4690k
Graphic Cards: 2x Asus Strix GTX970
Memory: Corsair Vengence Pro 2x 8GB
CPU Cooler: Corsair H105
PSU: Corsair AXi 760
Hardrive: Samsung EVO 500GB

Welcome to the forums jetkuma.question. do you get beep at startup.go look in event log to see what is causing this.then in the search box type in msconfig.and try to minimize the startup programs.after all this if it still doing the same.start to look for psu failing.the GTX970 is 145 watts.and minimum psu is 500 watt.(for one card)and the last one.(ram) try reseating.try with one only and see what go on.

Bad ram or bad psu.

Suspect failing PSU. Try another PSU rated at a minimum of 500W as a test. This test will determine whether the AXi 760 PSU is faulty or not.

If there are still problems with the test PSU installed, then the motherboard may be faulty.

Are all the parts new?

Are you overclocking anything?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? It may very well boot fine with default settings. If it does, use those long enough to determine if the problem is gone, then change settings as you would like.

So I just recently bought a new thermal compound and thermal compound cleaner. I reapplied thermal paste. Same problem still happening.

Removed CMOS battery, still same problem. Then removed the motherboard power connector and replug. The computer was able to turn back on to normal.

As for the ram, I don't have anything to test it....One thing I noticed though, that it kept staying at 1333MHZ even though I set it at 1600MHZ...It is beings stubborn I guess...

Called local dealer to fix this problem as I do not have a spare 500w PSU and another motherboard laying around to test

I will keep you guys posted with this.

to test use memtest.and you mention they are running at 1333mhz.when they are 1600mhz.you have to create a xmp profile in the bios.and put the right voltage.http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz8gx3m2a1600c8

Check the Caps on your Mobo for swelling/leaking. If not I'll bet its your PSU
