atm im running my card with an original 500w xconnect P.O.S and its randomly shutting off and im guessing due to powersupply issues.. first off i had to get an adapter from 20pin to 24pin for my dfi nf4 ut ultra and another pci-e power adapter.

my question is for around 100 bucks whats the best bet for a power supply?

Find someone who can lend you a 450 500w PS for testing befor you go out and buy a new one.... The issue may not be your PS :)

Well using a 20 pin PSU on the DFI board is already asking for trouble, as it's explicitly stated on dfi-street that a 24 pin PSU is required. Add aneminc 12v current, and you've got the equivalent of trying to run a Ferrari engine using a Beetle fuel pump.

I'd recommend a single rail PSU with at least 30A on the 12v rail. I'm personally using an OCZ 420watt PSU, 30A on 12v, and running an 1900xtx, oc'd opteron 165, a DFI Ultra-D, 2 HD's, 2 optical drives, 3 120mm fans connected to the mobo, and not a single problem from the PSU.

I've got the OCZ Powerstream 520 W. I've got plenty of room to use since I only have one 100GB hardrive, one DVD+-RW drive, an oc'd 148 Venus Opty, 2x 120 mm Rosewill case fans, CNPS 9500, VF-900, and another little 80mm case fan that I might move to my HR-05 Chipset heatsink (They do work on DFI boards even though their site says they don't, but only with the VF-900 or another minimal space HSF).

Judging from what your sig says, munky's suggestion for a good 12V rail PS should be all you need. But you might want to go through eveything you can to make sure it's a PS issue.

Im loving my Antec NeoHC 550w. Its got 3 seperate 12V rails, great for the X1900, and enough to power the 5 HD's i keep in my system :)

the enermax liberty is nice but 500w is a little restrictive if you decide to get a dual card config and have several HDDs and DVD-RW drives. I love my Enermax Noisetaker 600w. It's extremely quiet (can't hear it @ all) and it gives me a stable 12v line. (sends out 12.3v @ the moment.

Odds of someone with a non crossfire board and a X1900XT upgrading to crossfire? Slim.

Enermax liberty is good, you could just get the 450W fortron for $50 if you want to save some money.
