Top Gun

I had to Google it to be sure. Now I remember, bad movie, bad soundtrack.

Movie sucked man ass (literally), but the dogfights were awesome, and I just like the soundtrack. Don't really know why.

I love Gladiator, but all of Hans Zimmer's stuff sounds the same (listen to Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean back-to-back).

Wasn't Hans Zimmer the bad guy in Die Hard?

He has a style all his own that many other composers borrow from, but your example is one of the worst to show the similarity in his style on the films he scores. Zimmer didn't score the first PotC, film, but did collaborate on the next two.

O fortuna (Carmina burana- Carl Orf) is a really powerfull song that is used by a lot of movies (ie. Excaliber)

The Battlefield 1942/2 introsongs were also quite nice
