PowerDVD is messed up....

I'm trying to watch LOTR right now on my LG DVD-RW drive (not sure of the model, sorry) and I'm getting artifacts everywhere, and the sound is stuttery. :| It can't be my video card or sound card because I was just playing games with them. I'm about to try a different DVD, I'll edit this once I'm done. BTW, I'm using the XP version of PowerDVD.

UPDATE: Well, the other LOTR disc is messed up too. Now I'm really lost 🙁

Try restarting your PC, and then play the same DVD. If not better, replace the DVD and try. Let me know

Tryed that already. No difference.

I did find this though while looking for something wrong...

COuld this be it?

Yup, quite jerky. Just like the artifacts you get when you have a bad video card. Not checker board, more like pieces of the screen were cut out really badly and moved, and they always change.

Try unistalling the vid drivers, and reloading them. also check the version of directX. Your game drivers could have blogged it down.

I highly doubt that as this computer is fully up to date. It's actually my bro's and he's nuts about keeping it "neat" and "tidy." 😉

Even my Power DVD shows the same, so that may not be the problem. Just do the video drivers. That may help. Let me know

Can you? That's kind of neat...I'll try that now. Hmmmm...Maybe I'm dumb, but I can't figure out how to play it in WMP. 😕 Ah, there we go. Hmmm...it works just fine in WMP. But jeez I just installed PowerDVD...I've had it on this computer before and it works just fine...same CD...

PowerDVD has been giving me probs recently too. Would just freeze up and would have to give it the ole three finger salute. Even when I did a fresh install of it. I'm just using the Window's Media Player now, so far so good.
