is anyone familiar with powercolor? im considering a radeon 9800 (256MB DDR) its only $167, does anyone know if powercolor is a good manufacturer or have any suggestions?

They aren't bad, but weren't they the same guys that sold relabeled video cards as higher video cards?

EDIT: By accident, of course. But seriously, I remember reading of a manufactorer that sold Powercolor mislabeled cores, and Powercolor unknowingly sold them as the wrong video cards.

I personally trust Powercolor, i've seen nothing but rave reviews for all of their products, and haven't had any problems with the two Powercolor cards I own. Also, they have an awesome support forum on their Webpage. When its all said and done, I'd trust my money with them.
Just make sure you get a 256-bit card (probably only on the 9800 Pro models by now) as you will get better performance than from a 128-bit card (Most of the non-Pro 9800's and 9800SE's).

As a side note, I thought it was Sapphire with the card naming fiasco.
