Greetings, all. NewEgg has the Powercolor HD 3650 PCI-E x16 video card on sale for $15 after a $10 discount code and $15 rebate. Shipping is free. It's been $20 after rebate for a few days, but it looks like NewEgg has dropped the price by another $5. This is an awesome deal on a video card that has built-in decode for HD video. The card has DVI, VGA, and S-Video connectors onboard, and you can buy a cheap DVI-to-HDMI adapter if you need HDMI output. The card has onboard audio that will output through a DVI-to-HDMI adapter. I'm still using an old tube TV and need the S-Video output to connect to the television for multimedia playback.

I was going to buy an HD4350 or HD3450, but this card blows them away at the same or cheaper price. The only downside is I wanted fanless and this card has a fan, but it will hopefully not be too bad.

$10-off coupon code is: VGA151

I would not factor the rebate into the price as I am still fighting with them for $15 from January and my documentation was perfect!

Would this be any upgrade over a 2600XT? Maybe it would be worth it for the power savings?

agreed, i bought one, and i put 2 friends and a family member onto the deal, not one of us received our rebate, and powercolor have said they received nothing to each one of us, and refuse to take copies i made.

if 4 rebates are all denied saying the same thing, they are just trying to ignore the rebates existed

As far as performance is concerned, 2600xt is generally slightly better than 3650. However, this card offers 1GB memory, which should allow the functionality of a great multimedia(HTPC) PC.

Other people stated that 3650 has support for directx 10.1, so it is more future proof, but to me, that wasn't an issue. With low end cards, games running on directx 10 were so poor in performance, I ended up playing directx 9 versions, which gave better frame rates.
I could not see that much of a difference in the visual quality of the games.

I have a Jetway Atom 330 FlexATX motherboard/CPU with a PCI-E x1 slot, and I've cut out the back of the slot and currently have a Geforce 7600GS PCI-E x16 card plugged in. It works great (Windows reports it as a PCI-E x1 card), but I need a card that supports hardware decoding of the current high definition codecs. This card for $15 fits my needs, and I won't feel too bad about choking it in a PCI-E x1 slot.
