I think I have made ppl misunderstand me here, as an above average user I would prefer having a choice in hardware and software that I can choose from rather than being locked to a specefic choice of software and hardware got the hint guys ?

You have that with both Mac and PC.

Your point didn't get across... ever heard of a period (there were three of them just a few words back)? They are one component of good grammar usage, and I highly suggest that you incorporate them into your posts. Proper grammar (along with a sprinkling of well-thought-out logic) could indeed increase understanding on the part of your readers.

Sure, if I want to live in the slums, I'd encourage OSS like there's no tomorrow. </rant>

Tweakin: sorry I started a debate here. I didn't mean to.

Not a problem. I'm still really torn. I wish the Powerbook was a Windoz based system for consistancy in my everyday life. I will say that I like what I see at the Asus Site.

Oh ok, so I posted here and there and I was dead tired BIG DEAL, pick up a logic book and read about ad-hominem before you start judging people according to a couple of posts. If facts can't get you there, then maybe personal attacks will, what kind of twisted logic that is.

Judging by a "couple" of your posts, you don't know jack about Windows or the Mac OS.

This is the most ignorant, most idiotic comment I have ever read. Do us all a favor and butt out of this thread. LOL you consider yourself an above average user.

OH FSCK OFF!! If you want to go on with personal attacks here comes , from a post you made on SFF/ Notebooks when one member told you that you can use a 2.5" / 3.5" IDE adapter with your notebook's harddrive so you can use it on your desktop :

NO JUST PLUG THE ADAPTER IN YOUR ASS!!
WOW I am amazed by the depth of your knwoledge in the different aspects of computing !! So from what's above I can safely suppose that "you don't know " that you are a DUMBSH!T that pretends he knows what he is talking about , but he doesn't know his anus from his mouth in reality.

In previous posts, I was just stating my opinion I tried to clarify after that what I meant , but you dumbsh!ts kept spewing BS all over the thread, all I was trying to say is that as long as OS X restricts people to use their hardware and software at the same time they are forcing their users to use them, now I bet you there are tons of OS X users that wish if Apple releases a version of OS X that works on x86 computers don't tell me I am wrong, to be honest I would buy OS X to play around with it, if they release it for x86, I don't hate it that much I just hate the fact that I have to buy a whole system that is limited and restricted to use it.

I do understand that Apple makes much more profit selling their overpriced hardware more than their OS sales, but still we are talking about depending on one company for everything, imagine if this were the case with microsoft , you have a Microsoft OS, a Microsoft motherboard and all, that would suck real bad, most probably they would lock their hardware and all the components to only run on their software, that would make them 100 times more monopolistic than they are right now !

I see that as long as Apple forces people to use OS X on their hardware ONLY, then they are worthless to me.
But hey if you Apple fan boys want to use OS X on their crappy locked down limited shiny hardware I DON'T GIVE A SH!T.
It might be productive for you to use that's great, but let's face it, there is no really really important advantage for a Mac PC over an x86 PC, and as we know now, Apple PCs are morphing into an X86 PC with on board restrictions that prevent other x-86 OS's from running on it. So we are now back at point #1 I don't like restrictions and if you are a little bit smart you would realize that that's why I use Linux, it might not be the easiest, greatest OS to everyone but hey it comes with no strings attached and I adore in an OS these days.

So you pay more, and you get a locked up PC, sure it's an easy to use OS, but for ppl who are looking to do more than browsing the web and enhancing some ugly family photos in PhotoShop, it's just pointless.

LOLOL! Personal attacks? Yeah ok. I think its funny that you consider yourself an above average user, but don't know jack about anything. And who is the one going off with personal attacks? Re read your post.

You consider me an Apple fanboy? I use both Mac and PC. It seems the only fanboy here is you.

There is all kinds of software for Mac other than Photoshop and using it for web browsing. Yet more proof that you don't know jack about Macs. LOL why did you even bother posting in this guys thread and ruining it?

cacacaca can we just get along~

And who honestly cares what OS u use.

I think the easiest way to decide which OS to go with is

1. Do u have more Software for Mac OS? or Windows?

2. If u have no software for MAC then i dont see the point in spending a few g's for Windows software and vice versa.

Also im assuming ur a not a pirate whore jackin all the software which have lead both windows and apple to make GAY DRM's

Dude, up the meds. If you look back I requested some "useful" information regarding the choice of a Powerbook, pro's and cons...simple. You, the box is nice but it gets too hot, or it's slow compared to an HP Pav v1000, I love mine because...I'm sure you get the point.

As for Lucifer, If you want to keep the pissing contest going, do it on your thread...don't turn my original request for information into a useless capped thread.

PS>> Thanks Hopejr.

There are various Linux with PPC/Mac distributions, Mandrake and Debian are among them. And there's a commercial Linux distributor who programs for Macs only: Yellow Dog Linux.

You can get some hardware p0rn here:

The second newest PowerBook 15" disassembled:

The pictures are a bit small, though.

Oh and you can also tinker with OS X, much if you're willing to use the console. If not, than there still are some utilities around like TinkerTools. Messing with clock speeds is more difficult than with x86 hardware though.
