PowerBall @ $240M. Buy your tix immediately to maximize...

... your enjoyment/fantasy of winning.

You buy a tix for entertainment. why buy it Weds @5pm where u only get 2hrs of entertainment?

buy it the day after the previous drawing for maximum enjoyment.

so if noone wins this weds, buy the next tix on thurs. and if noone wins on sat, buy it sun.

get the most recreation out of that $.

Yeah it's a pain in the ass having to go to the convenience store / gas station whenever you want to buy a lottery ticket.

You have a better chance of dying on your way to get the ticket than actually winning.

Which is probably a good thing. Otherwise, a lot more people would buy Powerball tickets, further decreasing the odds of winning 😉

The number of people buying tickets has zero impact on your chances of winning. It only increases the chances of multiple winners.

No it doesn't. Odds are the same for you whether 1 person enters or 100 million enter.

True, just the payoff's not that big if more than one person match the winning numbers.

That's actually the truth if you think about it. Most of it is for the entertainment value.

I guess it's probably all that poor spelling he's having trouble comprehending.

Oh, and there is no entertainment with the lotto. It's just a waste of money. Scratch tickets are more fun, but still a waste. Gambling is just plain stupid. That's why the slot machine business is a multi-billion dollar industry.

Nope, I'm not much of a gambler. I'm 24 and I still haven't bought my first scratch off.

Comprende does mean comprehend.

I say this all the time to people who diss on the lottery... you aren't buying a chance to win. You are buying a little bit of hope. And to me, that is worth a buck.

Plus, if you happen to win, well... 😀

Do it all the time

what's to prevent them from just running off if you win or almost win?

They give their word on the FAQ page.

well, that certainly sounds legally binding.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, it's illegal to buy or sell foreign lottery tickets through the mail, telephone or the Internet in the United States.

It all boils down to this. The odds of you winning Powerball or any other lottery game through an online site and cashing in are slim. When it comes to playing the lottery online, just don't do it.
