Power went out...

Rebooting my computer and then the power when out, shutting down my computer completely. Then like 10 minutes later, the power is restored. I rebooted my computer, and Windows asked me if I wanted to "start normally" or "Go to last good known configuration".

I chose start normally. Is this the best option? Anyway, has the power ever went out on you while doing something important? Few weeks ago, my power went out when I was working on a 5 page essay. 🙁 Had to redo the essay all night.

yeah, start normally is the best option. do u have office XP? if so, how is it that it didn't do auto recovery?

I have Office Works, just MS Word.

Even a $50 UPS will give you the time you need to shut down safely.

I've had that happen before... word of advice: never try to write 4 papers in one night...
