Can a Power User Account holder not install his own applications ? For some reason it always asks for the admin password when trying to install applications...am I missing something here? The power user account was assigned from the user accounts control in the control panel...

Anybody?

Thanks

I tried that myself. Power user is supposed to be better, uses less resources, but I got tiered of having to use "install as". I just gave myself admin privileges.

I think power users can only change some parts of the registry... and some apps aren't smart enough to work that way.

ok is there anyway to give a power user the right to install all kind of software? I dont want to give admin rights to a kid who can screw up everything....especially because the kid in question here is very nosy

It doesn't sound like a good idea to me to give a "nosy" kid the ability to install things like keyloggers.

I wouldn't give him admin priviledges. You want to know what is going on your PC, trust me been their done that wasn't pritty. My Daughter has admin on her machine, she knows if she breaks it she fixes it. Problems have gone way down on her machine since the last time I made her do a clean install. :D She is a restricted user on my box and I like it like that.:)
