Power-up problems...i think?

recently i have been having problem turning on my computer. when this problem first occured, i just figured that the power switch or the line running from the switch to the mobo was bad. but that wasnt the problem. after fiddling around for a few days, i figured out that had to unplug the power cord from the computer for at least a minute or so, and then plug it back into the computer, and then hit the power switch to turn my computer on. i dont know exactly how long the computer must remain off before it wont turn on again, but i have turned off the computer for an hour or so before, and then powered back up without having to yank the plug for a minute. i usually shut down before i go to bed and have this problem when i go to power it back up in the morning. my guess is that there is some sort of electric discharge sitting in the power supply or something. if anyone is familiar with this problem, please help! i suspect i might have to get a new power supply...thanks

I think, we have a silimar problem, do a search on my thread, but I don't know if those sugguestion will help you, in my case it didn't. My thread

Tell me how it goes,

PS Is it the PC you placed in your sys rig? If so, I not sure it it will help, since my is AMD based system

thanks to the link to your thread. i do remember hitting the power switch one day and it did turn on. but i cant remember if it had been over 24 hours since i had last turned it on. all i know is that i went out of town for a week, and when i came back, it wouldnt turn on, and it wasnt until a few days later that i discovered that i could remove the power cord for a minute or so, replace it, and then turn it on no prob. but i'm getting real tired of reaching behind the desk to pull the plug every time i want to turn on my computer. i also dont have another power source to test in my computer, so i cant say that its the PS...i can only suspect. but thanks anyway...Sunny
