Power target for overclocking

In any case I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're anywhere near 1300mhz your performance is insanely good. 🙂 you can probably get higher - but in SLI those super high overclocks usually require water cooling, since the bottom card (usually) causes the top card to get a bit warmer. Which lowers the overall OC potential.

Yeah you're right. 1.28 GHZ is definitely fast enough. I wanted 1.3 GHZ just to round it up to the nearest 100, but it won't matter at all.

At 1.28 GHZ, I can also run my memory with a slight overclock to 7.48 GHZ without worrying about my core clocks down clocking or anything.

I still think though that if I were to remove my soundcard and PhysX card, my temps would lower quite a bit on both cards. But I'm not ready to move to onboard sound just yet 😉

Best way to fix this is probably just to get a 7 slot long SLI bridge and get an E-ATX motherboard with PCIe 16x slots in slot 1 and slot 7.

If I was doing only 2x Crossfire (and could find a 7 slot long Crossfire bridge), I would do that with my board.

An even better way would be to remove my soundcard and PhysX card, as they are the culprits which are causing my temps to be higher than they should be..

But I can live with 1.28 GHZ core and 7.48 GHZ memory, so no biggie 🙂

Is +1.48GHz considered a slight overclock nowadays? I'd still be sure to test this in games like Metro Last Light, Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 to be sure you aren't causing long term damage to your memory.

its a 770 which has memory rated for 7000 and runs it at 7000 out of the box.

Oh right, was just looking at the sig above, again my bad. To be fair I was being distracted at the time 😀
