Power Supply

I need to get a PSU for my new computer I'm building. What is the best brand to get? Is there really much of a difference between brands? How powerful should it be at the minimum? It will need to power:

P4 2.53GHz
1GB PC1066 RDRAM
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum
Matrox Parhelia
DVD Drive
CDRW Drive
Floppy Drive
2 WD1200JB Hard Drives
Intel Pro 100 Ethernet Card
Video Capture Card
Plus More...

Thanks for any help you can provide.

350 watts should be fine, but as a minimum, mebbe get a 400 watter.

try to go antec, theirs are great . . . . . run like hell if you see a foxconn or deer supply. from what i've heard, not experience, they suck and generally tend to summon their evil masters into your computer to destroy ever component. again, from hearsay, not experience.

ummm, about the parhelia. ummmm, yeeeeeno.

if you must have a next gen card, grab the ATI radeon 9700 pro. The parhelia can't even touch the geforce 4 Ti 4600 . . . . especially with the new dets. if you have spare cash, grab a 9700pro. i have heard nothing but good except for a few nvidia diehards . . . . . but nvidia has a new card coming probably mid to early 2k3, which, by their track record, will dominate the market in performance. anyway, don't eat me ati boys . . . . . right now, and for a good many months still, the 9700 pro is the best there is. if you would drop the cash for a parhelia, get a 9700pro.

ahem, and, um, good luck and all. I've heard of another very good brand of power supplies, but i can't remember the name. Im sure someone else will post it here.

Entermax is another good brand. They just work and they are nice and quiet. I got one about a year ago and it is working great. There is another one I used, Pc Power and cooling those are decent too. Shop around find the best price out of the good power supplies then get one.

I recommend Sparkle. They work well and last forever. I've heard they mfg the power supplies for PC Power & Cooling. I would get at least a 300W.
