I'm curious. Would a True P4 Power Supply rated at 430 Watts work with my Asus A7v333? I was searching Newegg for some cases, and most of them come with a P4 approved. I didn't see any AMD approved ones.

AMD doesn't recommend individual powersupplies anymore.

What they want for anything above a 1.33 or so is a supply that can put out 30A on the 5V line and a minimum 180 watts combined on the 3.3V and 5V lines. This is what AMD recommends and many people prefer to go with their recommendations to avoid problems, even though some people have used supplies with lower specs without problems. Whether a lower spec supply will work for you entirely depends on your configuration and whether you want to take the gamble to try.

Also, when you see units advertised as 'AMD Approved' that really doesn't mean anything. When AMD did approve certain supplies, many times it was only up to a certain speed so the blanket 'AMD Approved' advertising statement often was misleading.
