Power Supply

I bought a customized Compaq from their online store...does anyone know where to look to find the amount of wattage in the power supply, I'm upgrading my vid card to a 9700 pro so I need to make sure my PS is enough. Thanks.

Hmm I found it on the sticker...guess I wasn't looking through it the first time. Well now I know that my power supply isn't enough haha, need 300W+ and i only got 250W...are all power supplies pretty much made in generic physical dimensions? I don't want a new one not to be able to fit into the case.

Sometimes you can't fit a standard ATX PSU into some OEM cases, but look beyond the 250W rating. Wattage isn't everything--the standards for reporting this vary wildly. If the power supply is quality and has ample amperage on all individual rails, then you can run your card (I've seen SFF systems with 250W PSUs run 6800s--quality over quantity).

lol sorry i'm kinda new to the PSU scene. So what numbers exactly should I be looking for on my power supply to see if it can support my to-be vid card?
