Have a Modular PSU I'm having weird issues with, not sure if the PSU is the problem, or it's one of the cables. What would be a good PSU tester to buy? In the $20-30 range would be sweet.

Buy a good DMM (digital multi-meter) for $20=done. You can use it for everything.

Enter your Zip Code in the store locator for Radio Shack. Many are closing shop and goods are discounted to 90% ;)

Arrrgh... Who'd buy an analog meter these days when you can have a swiss army knife of a digital for under $20. Analog meters are just too fragile...

There are Q&D PSU testers out there for $10. to $15. I like the Coolmax one (also sold under lots of other names) because it tests most sorts of connections. But to really do some decent tests of cable resistance, intermittents etc., you'll need a nice DMM. Sears has a $20. Craftsman that's not bad and is frequently on sale for $12. or less and www.bgmicro.com http://www.bgmicro.com has a wide range of LCD DMMs ranging from under $10. to about $50. I have a Micronta LED DMM that I bought at RS - must be over 25 years ago that's still working fine - I doubt an analog would have held up as long with no maintenance except changing the battery.
