Hi All,
Yesterday I faced the issue, "Asus anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply".

My PC is just one week old. I have a 600VA (max. 360W) line interactive UPS for backup, to which I have connected my Corsair VS 550 W PSU. I was running NFS Rivals Maxed out and as soon as the main power was cut due to power outage the system restarted with the message "Asus anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply".

I am really stuck with this issue and I am worried that I might have damaged my new PC.

Kindly help me with the following doubts:

1. Have I already damaged any of my components, especially my CPU or GFX card due to the surge ?

2. Is my UPS under powered ?

3. Will replacing the UPS to 1KVA solve the issue or it the Asus BIOS issue ?

4. Is that a problem with my PSU - Corsair VS 550 ?

5. Have any one experienced this before ?

My PC Specs are:

Corsair VS 550 PSU

FX - 6300

Corsair vengeance 8GB

Sapphire R9 270x

Seagat Barracuda

ASUS M5A78 LM/USB 3

Numeric 600 VA UPS

Sounds like the UPS got over taxed, and the power output it was supplying wasn't in spec.
Unlikely you damaged anything, but, it still is possible. You would have to do some stability testing to see if all parts still work correctly.

IMO you should have a UPS that is at least double of what your system is capable of using.

What are the current voltages shown in BIOS or using something like CPUID HWMonitor ?

The Voltage levels seem to be normal. Can this be an overload issue on the UPS ??? Or the surge protection feature on the mother board is too sensitive ??

Your UPS won't handle your system under full load. I'm finding numbers for your CPU fully loaded run 135W and your GPU 225W (and that GPU is clocked lower than yours, I believe), so you've already maxed out your UPS before factoring in displays or any other peripherals connected to it.

ASUS isn't able to tell the difference if the power supply is unstable because of a problem with the unit or the outside power feed is insufficient.

This issue for me on asus boards has always been a power supply issue.
