I would like to praise Anandtech for the excellent review of Power Supples.(version 2)
Two things I would like to see added to the next review are:
1. an evaluation of the PS Connectors(How well do they make the connection, do the pins pop out the back when connecting to the device, etc. Any noise generated in the circuit post connector from a loose connection?)
2. An oscilliscope trace of voltage output with stable and unstable loads(Ripple)
The article made a tantilizing statement about instability of the 12 volt rail causing premature failure of nonmotherboard accessories(CD-R, Hard Drives, etc.) Is this why Hard Drives in Pre Made Computers are Failing at such a high rate?(As opposed to my custom Machines)
