Power supply replacement

I have an older amd k6-3 500 system, epox atx motherboard, the power supply needs to be replaced.

I can't recall who made the case, I think it's an In-Win case, can I replace a 235 powers system with a 250, or should I just buy a new case? I cannot find a 235 replacement power supply other than one that costs $50.00

Can I use a newer case with a 300 watt power system - will it support my older system or would that be too much power?

Is any amd approved case okay to use?

TIA

www.pricewatch.com for power supplies 🙂 and they are cheap like 15$ shipped i think...
all youll need is 250 watt psu, you wont have any problems with a bigger power supply, actually-- it will probably help your system out a lil...

but what you need to see is if your power supply is atx or at.... that will make a difference.

thanks - it's an atx -- I forgot about pricewatch.com

--actually, the system I have will have to be updated one day, would it be okay to buy a 300 watt case that will support future upgrades?

sure, go ahead and get a bigger psu and case if you want. I have an old K62/350 that is in my trusty Aopen HX-O8 case with a 300watt psu and it burns along no probs. Just cause you have a bigger psu does not mean it will use all the juice.
