power supply recommendations

I have a abit ka7 with 750 amd, is 250 watt power supply enough? if its not what should i put in?

12gig 7200 maxtor hd

If you are buying a new powersupply then there is no much reason not to buy a 300W. If you already have a 250W check AMD's approved powersupply list here: http://www1.amd.com/athlon/power.

Also if you are going to buy a new powersupply you should read on of Anand's articles: http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1128.

I have both the Antec 303 and the Sparkle Power FSP300-60GT, both of which have served me well.

I would reccommend the Sparkle 300W. It works perfectly with my Athlon and KA7. Sparkle makes VERY high quality power supplies. They are also sold under the names Fortran and Power Man.

CandyKid, are you having problems with your current setup? If you find that your current power supply is on the list of AMD's approved list and is working perfectly, there is really no reason for you to upgrade. Unless you are thinking about overclocking....
