Power Supply Question

I upgraded one PC and want to put the leftover 6800 Ultra 256MB video card in my old PC which has a 300 watt power supply. Is this enough juice to run this video card and if not how will I know? Will the power supply just give up or will it give me an error message? Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Hans

unlikely that a 300w will run your 6800U, but who knows. give it a try. If it artifacts in games and/or complains about not getting enough power, and/or generally causes system instability, you might look to the PSU first. I've run my 6800Ultra agp on a fortron FSP400 successfully, but I wouldn't put it on anything lower than a 400w from a top-shelf brand.

What is the make/model and specs of that 300w? Most importantly, how many amps are on the 12V rail?
