Dear Everyone,
I've built a new system for the first time in a while and am having trouble. My components are:
1. DFI Lanparty Ultra;
2. ATI 800xl;
3. Two 37 gig raptors in Raid 0;
4. one WD Cavier 80 gig;
5. Audigy II;
6. DVD drive;
7. CD Burner;
8. floppy;
9. Two OCZ Platinum 512 meg chips (swapping with 2 256 meg Corsair Platinum XMS); and
10. 3 120 mm fans (Antec p180 case).
I have a Antec TruePower II 430 Watt power supply. I can't run the 2 OCZ platinum chips together at the same time (numerous reboots, blue screens o' death, etc). I can run either OCZ chip independently. I can run both Corsair chips together without problems.
Interestingly, I can sometimes boot to safe mode with the 2 OCZ chips installed. Under my hardware in Control Panel, I see a yellow exclamation pointed service which says something like 'ups power supply' or something close to that (it's been a while since I have been able to boot with two chips to that stage).
Is it possible my power supply does not have enough juice for this system? It doesn't seem likely but all indications seem to be pointing in that direction. I RMAed my first pair of OCZ chips figuring since the Corsair was problem free, it must be a memory issue, now I'm not so sure.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
