Power supply issues/questions...

So, there was just a power outage in this office about 1.5 hours ago....it came back on after 15 or so minutes, much to our dismay, but even worse, my computer wouldn't turn back on. Everybody else's computer would turn on, other than one last one.......the computer that's just the same as mine. We tried hitting the power, nothing......we pulled the power cable out, let it drain a while, nothing (fans spun a little bit, but it was just a shock of electricity). So finally we decided that it was the power supplies that were dead, and I replaced it from a computer that wasn't being used.....lo and behold, I'm posting now.

My question is this: These Enermaxes were purchased 1.5 months ago...I've never bought one before, but knew that they were highly regarded as being the best.......obviously, not my experience. Is there a warranty on these (bought through NewEgg)? Is there anything else I should try before attempting to RMA it?

Thanks all...........and lastly, there's still a chunk of my right 4th finger hanging somewhere inside of a case, as it certainly isn't with the finger anymore.

If your systems were on a surge protector this shouldn't have happened. I have seen it though on older systems with questionable PS's. The only thing I can suggest is take it to a local shop and have them test it or buy a $12 Antec PS tester.
As to the warranty, if they were refurbs you are SOL. Other than that there will be a warranty; probably a 1 year version that is standard on Enermax PS's. You should RMA to NewEgg if you can.

And.....when you go back into that case, just have some Super Glue handy to re-attach that piece of finger. Works like a charm.

Well, it was on a surge protector, AND it wasn't a refurb. :| Hopefully there is a 1-year warranty, but I hate having to RMA it.......bitch.

my enermax 'whisper' box says there's a 24 month warranty. try their website.

Well, since you weren't aware of the warranty on an item purchased through NewEgg, we shouldn't assume you knew anything else about them. Chill. :|

2.) The "doh" was referring to my luck with hardware and RMAing so much, not to trash your post. sorry that it came across that way.

Did you test if it was good by jumping the PWR_ON with the PS_GOOD? Don't ask me to id the pins, I'm little leary since you left your finger somewhere. If you try it and look like Don King afterwards, may Good Yoda beat you over the head with a Light Sabre.
