Power Supply Issue

Hello to all,

I hate to make my first post here a "need support" thread, but I need a bit of help.

I have an Emachines PC, put in a 6800 GS a couple months ago. Since then, PC has been freezing up everytime I went into any graphic-intensive program. Opened up the case, found out the PSU is only 300W while the 6800 GS needs a minimum 350W. Went out an bought a 465W PSU (made by RetailPlus, which has worked in the past well enough for others), put it in, replaced all the cables and whatnot, turned the PC on, and got a beep. CPU, lights, fans are all running, but nothing comes up on the screen, just one steady intermittent beep.

Took out all the cables and replugged them in again, now I get no beep, but still nothing comes up on the screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any response in advance.

Reseat all PCI/AGP cards. Does the monitor indicator light change color, showing that it is trying to work?

Uunplug everything except video card, cpu and memory to see if it pass the POST test. If it does, start adding more component to your PC.
