Power supply interference

I recently purchased a cheap ($17 total) case and power supply. The power supply was something like 500W. I plugged it in and everything worked fine, but my parents were complaining that the AM radio had a lot of static when listening. I brushed it off and figured that the cell tower across the street was the problem. Then I hooked up the s-video tv-out of the computer up to my TV and the picture was bouncing around all over the place. My wi-fi internet has been very flaky since I've installed this new PSU as well. The connection is constantly dropping out.

Frustrated, with the noise of the cheap power supply, I turned it off and left it off. The next morning my parents asked me if I turned anything off in the basement, I told them I turned off my new computer, and they said that that was the problem, because the radio sounded great. I've had the computer off for two days and my wi-fi connection hasn't dropped once.

Sooo, obviously there is something wrong with this computer, my guess is that the PSU is shielded very pourly. Has anyone heard of something like this happening? And if so, anyone have a solution other than buying a new power supply?

Thanks!

buy a new PS - RF shielding is WAY more expensive.

Ask your parents if they will kick in a little so everyone is happy.

Maybe wash their car and do some chores or something if you do not already.
