Power Supply for Duron System

I'm going to help my dad put his first system together. It's going to be a Duron, probably on either an Asus A7V, or Aopen AK33. It'll
sport a CDRW, Superdisk, Tape drive, plus all the internals.

Is the Duron, like the older Athlon, picky about it's PS? Is a 250watt PS enough? Or should we go for a 300watt?

Any help is appreciated.
 
I would go with a 300w PSU. I would also consider the MSI K7T Pro for a mobo. One of the most stable around, plus its not too picky when it comes to components.
 
Ive been running a 250 on an Abit KT7-Raid with a duron oc'ed to 1000MHz and I havent had a problem. If I were you, id get the Epox 8KTA+ motherboard...it has dipswitches for vcore, io, and multipler. Very stable board also. I prefer this board over the KT7 to be honest, but im only gonna have it temporarily 🙁

He's not going to be O/Cing, so he doesn't need any jumpers/dipswitches.
I'm just looking for a stable MB.

So the consensus is, 300 watt just to be safe?
