Power Supply Choice? (OCZ ModStream 520W)

Ok...

I got my Neo2 and 3200+ all up and running.

I'm getting random reboots, and I think it may be due to the powersupply. I'm using an Antec TruePower 430. There have been rumors that there are problems with this PSU and MB, but I can't find anything to back it up.

Anyway, I'm considering a new powersupply.

My first choice was the OCZ PowerStream 520W, but everyone seems to be out of stock.

So now my choices are...

OCZ ModStream 520W
Antec NeoPower 480W
Fortron 550W

I like the idea of having a modular power supply, but I'm wondering if the ModStream 520 will be as good as the PowerStream 520.

Does anyone have any experience with this PSU? Is there another PSU I should really be considering?

I'm using Directron, because I need a vendor that will ship to APO addresses. If you know of a better place, let me know.

Edit: I posted in this forum because I do plan on overclocking. In retrospect it may have been better to choose another forum. Sorry about that.

As for a reference, I found This Link in another thread in the Motherboards forum. Scroll down to the italicized text and you will see the a reference regarding instability and Antec Power Supplies.

Modstream does not have adjustable rails and a bit less powerful, but it is still a very nice psu

Out of the three PSU's listed, I reccomend the Fortron FSP 550.

First off, it has separate rails for the +12v to the CPU and +12v to everything else. It''s a server PSU and all that implies as far as stability and all. It also has Active PFC, so you can use it overseas without worries about power input (50 hz versus 60 hz for the power for te power over there). I run a smaller version of the FSP 550. The thing is virtually silent, and is virtually impossible to break. You may need to get the adapter if the PSU in question is NOT retail. You can still swap the pins if you don't want to spend the 20 bucks on the converter.(I did).

My readings for the Fortron FSP 460 (ATX-GES, Server PSU) on the NF7-S in the sig below, with 3 x 7200 RPM HDD, two DVD R/W, and being OC'ed fairly well, are: 12.1v, 3.31v, and 5.00v right out of the box, under load with Prime95.

I have never seen a nicer PSU for the 50 dollars that I spent for each of them.

OCZ hands down. Then the Fortron then the Neopower. The Neopower is not one of Anandtechs better creations, innovative but unstable and underpowered.

haha, I don't blame him for getting it confused. I catch myself saying stuff like that all the time. Vantec, Antec, Anandtech......All sound the same.
