Hi,

I also posted this on cases and coolings, but I get very little response there so,

I`m going to buy this comp:
mobo: Epox 8K5A2+
Proc: AMD Athlon XP 2200+
Graphics: Geforce 4 128 mb ti 4600
DDR: Dane-elec 512 pc2700
HD: Seagate barracuda 80 mb ATA-100

Is a power supply of 340W enough? Or should I buy another supply with higher wattage????

thanx

thx,

great site.

Ok, now to find out what ecactly I`ve got according to those questions there.

Hm, maybe 350 is enough, but perhaps I could get a bit more, 430 perhaps.
Anyone knows if enermax EG465AX-VE(FCA)
is a good one?

So k, thx

350w should be plenty.....i am currently running an xp1700+ on an ecs k7s5a mobo w/256mb pc2100 ddr.....80 gig WD HDD.....cd-rw, dvd, geforce 4 ti 4200, sounblaster live value, floppy, yada yada yada, all on an antec 300w ps with absolutely no problems at all.....that 350w should do fine.....i've used enermax ps's before and they seemed to work fine.....and not too loud either....good luck

I must stress that the quality of the power supply is more important than the wattage. I had a Turbo Link 420W power supply with my new Chieftec Aluminum Case. It was running a standard 1800+ system with GF4 Ti 4600. It blue screened and randomly restarted twice.

So I popped in a Seasonic 300 Watt (they are big in Asia) and not only has it been running the system perfectly, but it is much quieter. I was getting only 3.0 on the 3.3V with the Turbo Link...
