Power Question

Spooner

Lifer
I have a 250 watt power supply.

Can I run a cdrom and 3 hard drives without problem or do i need more watts?

(plus all the other normal stuff... 3.5 floppy... um... i think that's it)

don't give me the "this should be in another forum" thread crap... my browser only points to ATOT 😉

You need to see how much power your power supply provides to 3.3v, 5v, and 12v. Then, add up the power demands of all your components at those said voltages. If your components need more, you need a bigger power supply. Just guessing, unless those are 15k SCSI drives, you are probably OK, but every power supply is different, and if yours is skimping on the 12v side, you might have problems.

Naw... it's all IDE stuff.

I have a separate SCSI card for my SCSI burner... which uses its own power cord (external)
