Stu, to show that I am not jerking you around:

As I mentioned above I don't want to see your next post as "Well it all smoked up." Hooking ATX supplies to each other isn't just an ATX "Y" cable. Typically there are some other guts going on with them and some extra stuff inside the supplies themselves. Same thing with just attaching a 360 supply or any supply to another.

It has worked so far in testing, but I'm not happy with how I have it wired up right now anyway, so I'll do some more research into how auxiliary PSUs handle themselves. The one that was linked earlier seemed to have a molex input, so I wonder if you connect the main PSU to the aux that way to get them to the same ground. If that's the case, then I'll look into what's involved with that. This is for a small form factor system that's going to be moved around a lot, so I'd rather over-engineer the power situation.

I'll see if I can find a 6/8pin backplate I saw once tomorrow. It was basically a video card 6/8 pin extension cable that has the molex ground connector and a 12V feed for a small relay for a remote power on all attached nicely to a standard back slot cover. You provided your own relay but those are easy to find.
